More Race Pimping From The Right

According to the ethically challenged Michael Barone (read: he’s a serial liar), Democrats should vote for Alito because… well… he’s italian.

Based on these new standards of excellence championed by the Republican party, I have decided on my campaign slogan for the presidential election of 2016.

Oliver Willis: BLACK!

>> Matthews falsely claimed Democrats accused Alito of being “lenient on the mob”
>> Cable news coverage of Alito nomination skewed right

    NPR coverage also skewed right

Frank, I love the way you drive the left-wing moonbats here nuts, but you’re a little off-base on this one.

I’m half-Italian and “The Sopranos” doesn’t offend me. If you’re gonna make a realistic show about the mob in Norht Jersey, they’re gonna be Italian.

Almost all the dope dealers on “The Wire” are black. Why? Because they’re trying to do a realistic show about the drug culture in West Baltimore and the street-level dealers there happen to be black.

I will say that there’s no way in hell that the Dems would’ve led with a failed mob prosecution as the number one bullet point on Alito were he NOT Italian, but I think we should stick to that, rather than TV shows.

I would recommend, “Oliver Willis: Mama Mia, that’za Black Man for Me!”

Apparently no one: You can say what you want about “hillbillies”, “rednecks” (insulting rednecks has its own show on WB11 and the Comedy Channel), and Italians (see the Sopranos for further info — they meet at that famous Italian cultural center — Bada Bing’s), and Catholics.

I’m awaiting a credible denial by anyone.

  5. Yes, the poor oppressed white male. Who will finally give them a break?

  6. scratch says:

Actually, Barone said that the Dems risk alienating a constituency regardless of which position they take on Alito (many Italians on one side, women and pro-choice on the other.) He was talking politics. Specifically, the political impacts of voting against Alito. I guess that according to Barone, the Italian-American votes are more at risk than the pro-choice vote.

  7. Frank_D says:

As I read Barone’s column, I thought, this kind of column could have been written for a nominee of any racial or ethnic group, but for one thing: No one in America would have the balls such a column, if the subject of that column were Jewish, black, gay, or a woman.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: In this country, you can always offend Christians, Italians, white southern men, without fear.

Hell I can do it six times before breakfast. The right-wing ones, anyway. They are so fragile there’s nothing you can say to them that won’t offend them. Thank God the left-wing variety are more robust, or the species would die out altogether.

You can add the Irish, (such as I) when they spawn the likes of Hannity, O’Reilly, The Buchanan’s and……did I leave any out? Someone help me identify the Irish idiots that populate the right wing.

It used to be said that God created whiskey to prevent the Irish from ruling the world. I think he overdid it.

There are some people who seem pretty pleased with Alito’s nomination. White supremacists.

Here are a few quotes from the Stormfront White Supremacist forums:

“…99% of White Italian Americans in and around Philly are tough White racists. If this one goes soft on the Mulianos, the Italians in Philly would take it out on his relatives.”

“He is against civil rights so that has to be a good thing.”

“His wife’s is named Martha, that’s a White name.”

“According to “Think Progress”, Alito is hostile to immigrants. . . Ya’ know, I’m beginning to like this guy.”

Another praised Alito and cited an article which mentions that Alito believes Congress has no right to regulate the private possession of machine guns… and yet another pointed out that there “weren’t any women or ‘minorities’ who were both qualified and willing.”

However, another cited this article, pointing out that Alito’s policies would oppose to Roe V. Wade, support race-based discrimination in the workplace, support disability-based discrimination, and support for deportation of immigrants without due process. These were all seen as good things.

So, it appears that Bush just might solidify his base after all…

Barone is a scholar and a giant in the arena of political analysis (ex – “Almanac Of American Politics”). Oliver should aspire to such greatness.

  12. Frank_D says:

Kraft: I don’t even open up those sites, in the unlikely event they’ll foul my computer. What’s your excuse?

    “Solidify his base”, indeed. Idiot.

White supremacists also supported Cindy Sheehan. Should that mean something?
