Watch the cons spin the criminal indictment of the vice president’s chief of staff as no big deal. Ha!

Aide to Cheney Appears Likely to Be Indicted; Rove Under Scrutiny

Associates of I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, expected an indictment on Friday charging him with making false statements to the grand jury in the C.I.A. leak inquiry, lawyers in the case said Thursday.

Karl Rove, President Bush’s senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, will not be charged on Friday, but will remain under investigation, people briefed officially about the case said. As a result, they said, the special counsel in the case, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, was likely to extend the term of the federal grand jury beyond its scheduled expiration on Friday.

We need to know from the administration why members of senior White House staff have been indicted, did the president or vice president have a role in the commission of perjury? Why or why not? Is this a pattern?

We have questions.

It’s clear with the knifing of Miers that the far right has kicked the butt of the Bush White House. The next nominee will in all likelihood be a hard right ideologue who thinks Roe is a myth and civil rights protections a work of fiction. One analysis on tv said that it would take the senate a month to prep for the next nominee which would push the entire process past the holiday hiatus… and into the election year.

Is 2006 going to be the year where we fight over a far right power grab on the American courts? Does Bush want that? The reason the right has to nominate people like Roberts, Miers, and even Bush himself is because America simply does not embrace the right-wing crazies.

You gotta admire the ruthlessness of the cons. Just take Miers outside, explain to her how its gonna go down, and bang! Over. Now watch for the crazy they appoint in order to appease the far right (constitution in exile, anyone?)

Sen. Reid:

In choosing a replacement for Ms. Miers, President Bush should not reward the bad behavior of his right wing base. He should reject the demands of a few extremists and choose a justice who will protect the constitutional rights of all Americans.

Media Research Center claims that the AP called Harriet Miers’ school “too white”. Nowhere in the story cited by MRC does it say “too white”.

This is what they do. They make s*** up.

Dumbest Poll Question In History

2:10 pm EST October 26th, 2005 | Politics | 11 Comments

I gotta say, asking if Bush would win a matchup against a hypothetical Democrat is the dumbest question ever asked in a political poll. We had a poll on this, and Bush won. We’re three years away from the next general election, and Bush will not be a nominee. This poll simply makes no sense.

Now, what polls do make sense are approval ratings, and at his current state it’s no wonder that Republicans around the country don’t want to be seen with him. So I hope he does a lot of stumping for the GOP next year… if his term lasts that long.
