What she did for the CIA was the secret. The fact that she worked for the CIA and helped send Wilson to Niger after Wilson denied it was allegedly the point of the discussions about Plame. We'll need more details from Fitzgerald to see who knew about and leaked Plame's covert background. The fact that Plame was CIA was not a secret and could be freely discussed. It was not a secret that she worked for the CIA. What she did for the CIA was the secret.
