    It is always a mistake for the faithful to come up with epistemological convolutions to prove that; 1) god exists in the anthropomorphic sense
    2.) Science (the fossil record) and the Bible are not in conflict.

    St Augustine and Thomas Acquinas made noble attempts at number 1, and the modern day scripturalists, though well-intended, should learn the lesson of the former, before they begin. It will not end well.
