Obama Pushes For Yes On Health Care Reform In House

Indictments Coming, Where’s Karl Rove, Etc.

It is possible that the cavalcade of corruption is coming to a crescendo.

US officials brace for decisions in CIA leak case

The federal prosecutor investigating who leaked the identity of a CIA operative is expected to signal within days whether he intends to bring indictments in the case, legal sources close to the investigation said on Wednesday.

As a first step, prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald was expected to notify officials by letter if they have become targets, said the lawyers, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Radar: “The D.C. rumor mill is thrumming with whispers that 22 indictments are about to be handed down on the outed-CIA agent Valerie Plame case. The last time the wires buzzed this loud — that Tom DeLay would be indicted and would step down from his leadership post in the House — the scuttlebutters got it right.”

Lets just say I’m hearing the 22 number too, but who the hell knows what’s really happening here.

    The last time the wires buzzed this loud that Tom DeLay would be indicted and would step down from his leadership post in the House the scuttlebutters got it right.

    That’s about all that they got right, as it looks like Ronnie Earle is a vindictive partisan.

    Witness the changes at the Austin American Statesman since the indictment(s) came down:

    September 30, 2005: “Judgment of DeLay by the courts is yet to come, but the political system’s verdict is in. He’s a dead man walking.”

    October 5, 2005: Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle has added several more acts to the already circus-like investigation of alleged Republican campaign funding illegalities.

    “The latest act unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when Earle disclosed that he had gone grand jury shopping on Friday after an indictment against former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, which was returned last Wednesday, was questioned for its legality.

    “Working on its last day, a second grand jury declined to indict DeLay on Friday. Earle’s office said it received new information over the weekend, so it went to yet a third grand jury empaneled on Monday, the last possible day under the statute of limitations. That grand jury returned the new indictments.

    “Earle’s panicked rush lends credence to those who complain that he is a partisan playing politics with the grand jury, and it gives ammunition to critics who argue that he has been hapless in his three-year probe.”

    Funny, in all of his gloating, I don’t believe Oliver has mentioned these recent developments. Oh, but if the shoe was on a Republican D.A.’s foot, we’d hear of nothing else but “filthy cons,” “whores,” “stupidity,” “liars,” “racists,” and other charming epithets of the “culture of hooliganism.”

    Tuco;

    Yeah. There is a lot of wishful thinking going on here. You’re wish is in the micrcosm of one charge. There is an ocean full of fish. You just have to catch one, make a deal to release him back into the water, if he tells you where his buddies are..Unravel the twisted knot of complicity and the whole school of mackeral goes into the net.
