Frank;

Just curious. What, or who might be your target audience?

And as I said before, what is comprehensible to me, is your liguistic clip of the language. It is afire with the passion found in the clammy grasp of the washroom attendant. It is has all the flowers of the word garden, but alas, they do not bloom. Yours is a tale that inspires those who do homage to
Saint Jude; the patron saint of the lost cause.

Once again, Cleo, a totally incomprehensible metaphor. Did you watch any Dennis Miller as I suggested?

You need it.

Stick to simple declarative sentences -- you're losing your target audience: Mouse, JadeGold and frameone.

It really boils down to the "fact" the Left "knows" what to do with your money better than you do.

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to hop in my Ferrari and mow down some poor cripples whilst on my way to a five star restaurant where I will enjoy an expensive meal prepared by underpaid workers toiling in unsafe conditions. I will, of course, pay for this using "unearned investment income". If the waiter is extra good, I'll slip him a Lincoln for his troubles.

"No, Oliver, you and x amount of liberal democrats tried to get everone to believe that Bush was going to dismantle and privatize Social Security."

Belief based on words OR... belief based on behavior?

From time to time the subject of Social Security comes up. It is a venerable institution in the hearts and minds of the conservative movement, so much so that we want to save it from insolvency with urgent calls to action.

Conservatives have a soft spot for the people Social Security was designed for; you know, the families who fall below the poverty line. We want to help save the program in the name of FDR. The tradition started by this visionary must be kept strong and healthy. Caring for the poor and sickly is one of the pillars of democratic philosophy. We are the party of family values and the Golden Rule.

OK. Let's cut the crap.

We have been hounded long enough by the ghostly visage of that womanizer, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He created this pork-pie freebie that we all have to contribute to, and it's high time the widows, orphans and elderly poor pay their own way.

What can we do? It's very popular and it's likely to get us into trouble if we just muscle it into the ditch. How might we couch it so that we can slowly put it out of it's misery while we limit our own dollar liability and our potential political demise.

We pay too much of our hard earned (unearned investment income) money on taxes. Let's gradually shift the burden from unearned income to earned income sweated out by the fools who work for a living (through payroll taxes) by telling all these suckers that we are for giving tax breaks to American Families! We'll give them a nice tax rebate check. Then we'll run amok with pork-laden federal programs to run up the federal budget deficit. We'll exponentially increase the military budget(urging patriotic support from the people who have to pay for it) while decreasing tax revenues. The we'll have to force open the "Lock Box" open with popular calls for balancing the Federal Budget.(I know there is no 'lock-bos Frank)

Pretending we want to keep the Social Security Trust Fund solvent, we'll move to increase the payroll tax on working families. When Democrats try to reduce the Federal Tax breaks instead we'll call it a TAX INCREASE FROM THE TAX-AND-SPEND LIBERAL DEMOCRATS!

The Democrats "won" in the sense they successfully lied about Bush's plan enough that the sheeple fell for it.

There NEVER was a plan to "privatize the whole system" or take away old coot's beloved SS payments. And you know it, Oliver... or at least you SHOULD know it.

GWB's plan was about giving younger people a choice in what they could do with their SS taxes. But, thanks to the Democratic liars like Oliver, the status quo of big pappy gubmint taking it and doing with it what ever it sees fit continues on. You should be proud.

I guess now that privatization is dead, we'll be spared the cries of RR and the other trolls in a few years that his "private account" yields him about $200/month in retirement.

History books will show that pushing an unwanted privatization scheme for SS was the beginning of the end of the Bush administration.

So, Bush redefines progress from dismantling and privatizing the whole system to convincing the American people there was a problem . Democrats stood firm, America rejected the scheme. Maybe they (the Democrats) will learn.

No, Oliver, you and x amount of liberal democrats tried to get everone to believe that Bush was going to dismantle and privatize Social Security.

Having successfully inoculated a large segment of the population with that fear, the best the President could hope for was that he could fight the risng tide of Democratic propaganda to the effect that Social Security was "just fine". That he did.

One for you -- one for him. Actually, since your "victory" was based on a bald - faced lie, that's really two for him.

Funny, you could say the same thing about global warming - that we are putting it off for future generations to solve - but nobody in this administration seems to give a damn about that looming catastrophe.

I guess it is all about your political frame of reference.

Discussion overheard in a washroom located in a "Red' State

"I don't know about the rest o' you folks but I am more than just a little worried about these midterm elections next year.

What with the "contract with america" goin full-flush down the shitter with this current bunch, I think its' time we conservatives took the party back from the miscreants who have sold this country lock, stock and barrel to the highest bidder. First of all, they ain't sharin' much with us. Could be we are the biggest fools since the seller of the Louisiana Purchase who traded 89 Bazillion acres for a box of Wheaties and a blow job. We're like
