Meet The Bush Administration Energy Policy

I kid you not.

US govt unveils Energy Hog to promote conservation

With U.S. heating bills expected to hit record highs this winter, the Bush administration on Monday launched a conservation campaign featuring a cartoon mascot “Energy Hog,” which critics said does little to discourage energy use.

They had a choice between George Bush being a leader and announcing real, honest plans to cut energy consumption and work towards alternatives to our existing, dwindling, fuel sources. They chose the cartoon pig.

The “Energy Hog” is actually an old gimmick. The Department of Energy has been airing PSA’s featuring the character for about three years. I think the ad campaign is aimed at children, much like “Smokey the Bear” and other Ad Council characters.

We have a problem that we will do nothing reasonable about. Sounds about right…the sweater is a good idea and firewood, lots of firewood.

He would have looked much nicer in a cozy tan sweater.

I will hug him and squeeze him and call him George. As in Bush. The biggest energy hog of them all. Or should that be Dick? Tom? Dennis? They are all fat corporate hogs. Projection much? :-)

I don’t suppose he got much work since “The Texas chainsaw massacre”. Creepy.
