Proving once again that Bush is more concerned about looking like a leader than actually being a leader

Bush visited the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington before flying later in the day to his home state of Texas, where highways were jammed with people trying to escape Rita’s expected landfall early Saturday. The president was to review preparations and thank first responders who were among the hundreds of emergency personnel dispatched to expected disaster areas.

The truth is they don’t know how and they never will. It’s all for the cameras, all for show. Once it gets down to the nitty gritty its just so much excrement.

Ratio of people Bush has helped compared to people Bush has pledged help to…

1:150,000. Give or take. (Mostly take.)

He reminds me of the worst friend you’ll ever have.

    JWG.

Good point. Similarly, the Democrats are calling for an investigation as to why the Houston pre-hurricane activities have been so much superior to NO. Now does anybody at room temparture doubt for a second that they would also be calling for an investigation if the Houston activities were not better than New Orleans. Good ol’ Democrats. Investigate Bush either way. Use these tragedies for political gain. Great people all.

JWG: When Bush is on vacation or visiting people to pledge help to them, he deserves criticism.

When he’s actually helping them, he does not. Your comments suggest that a President is either on vacation or posing for the media.

A President’s job is not to go places and spout metaphors; rather, it is to put the country in a position where it can be helped and help itself.

  4. JWG says:

So when Bush doesn’t look like a leader because he spends too much time on “vacation,” you criticize him. But when Bush looks like he’s doing something other than vacationing, you criticize him as only posing for the media. Either way, he deserves criticism, right?

Wonder how many evacuees will be slowed in their flight by his cavalcade / helicopter / mode of transportation, like when the rescue copters were grounded as he visited the New Orleans / Biloxi site?

    Cellulose,
What!? your explanation make no sense. You would be better off just hurling invective without explanation. You will fit in better at this site.

  7. I wish he’d just stay for the hurricane.

  8. Teddy Feces says:

Well JWG when all he seems to do is take vacation or strum his guitar for the media (those devils), then yes I agree with what you said.

  9. southpaw says:

Why does Bush have to fly to Colorado to monitor the hurricane? He is not setting a very good example for fuel conservation. This winter you can expect your energy bills to double or triple because of oil shortage.

    WHERE. IS. OUR. PRESIDENT?!

Oh wait…that was the last storm.

WHY. IS. OUR. PRESIDENT. AT. THE. SCENE. OF. THE. STORM?!

  11. goatchowder says:

Because it is conveniently located close to his vacation home, this time around.

  12. Zappa says:

The good thing is that this Admin will have plenty of hurricanes to prepare for get and get right this time…I hear that their global warming policy will see to that…
Oh but that is evil science – our faith based predictions say that god is punishing us for our constant critique of the Prez.
