		<description>This is front page news, by the way, in both the NYT and WaPo...contrary to Oliver&#039;s claim&#039;s of media apathy. Check the Sep 24 editions.

		<description>&lt;i&gt;She lied about receiving an inside tip. Her crime was the statement.&lt;/i&gt;

It&#039;s almost routine: Dugger will always distort or misrepresent the facts. Stewart was convicted on four counts of fraud, conspiracy, making false statements and obstruction of justice in connection to insider trading.

		<description>The talk will center on whether this rises to criminality.

What about right and wrong?

If you are going to represent yourself as a person of &#039;values&#039;, shouldn&#039;t you take that extra step so that the &#039;appearance&#039; of wrongdoing cannot be made.

I am not sure anymore about capital punishment.

There are situations where the death penalty is too good for you.

I think we should eventually take all the war profiteers (feasting on the blood of our troops) and all the avaricious swineherding greedheaded stock swindlers and disgorge all their assets (to be distributed to the small business administration for grants to low-income entrepreneurs) the place them in section 8 housing earning minimum wage flipping burgers for a minimum of ten years. Taking away what they love most would be poetic justice.

I can pretty much guarantee the rate of recidivism will be quite low for this excrement.

		<description>&quot;That aside, you don t think insider trading is a crime?&quot;

She lied about receiving an inside tip. Her crime was the statement. I&#039;m no big Martha fan at all. Politically she&#039;s more on your side of the fence. And its just an opinion. If you are bored sometimes, check out what she actually did.

&quot; we can no longer call ourselves a democracy.&quot;

And this may possibly be so since we are not a democracy but a republic.

		<description>Wrong, Dugger, Bush will forever have an asterisk by his name and we can no longer call ourselves a democracy.

That aside, you don&#039;t think insider trading is a crime? IOW, you&#039;re suggesting the very wealthy and well-connected should bear no risk in the marketplace; instead those risks and costs should be borne by the less wealthy and less well-connected?

In many ways, insider trading hurts far many more people than the thug who robs a 7-11.

		<description>When Clinton was President there was plenty of surplus money to spend on investigations. Now that Bush and his cronies are spending far more money than the govt is taking in, there won&#039;t be any money to spend on investigating any illegal activities.

		<description>Come now, Dugger. If such athing had occurted under our last democratically-elected President there would have been a multi-million dollar independent counsel investigation spanning close to a decade.

Case in point, GOPers spent around $20M investigating whether an Agriculture Secretary improperly received some sports tickets.

Yet, we have a leader in the GOP and possible Presidential candidate engaging in financial shenanigans far worse than what sent Martha Stewart to prison.

		<description>Hey Jade

Bush is our last democratically elected pres. I don&#039;t think Martha Stewart did all that much wrong. As to that multi million dollar investigation, you mean like the October surprise investigation - when Dems had the reins.

		<description>First of all. Elements of this story have been out there some time. Second, what you have is a big story on MSNBC citing a major AP release. And you complain about the coverage?

Dugger, Perspective, thy deft touch is felt not
