Bush Says Saudi Child Sex Workers Are Nothing To Worry About

It’s the morality, stupid

President Bush decided Wednesday to waive any financial sanctions on Saudi Arabia, Washington’s closest Arab ally in the war on terrorism, for failing to do enough to stop the modern-day slave trade in prostitutes, child sex workers and forced laborers.

It’s not a crime when Saudi Arabia does it. They can traffic in humans, fund terrorists, subjugate their women, manipulate the fuel supply - Saudi Arabia simply lives by a different set of rules than any other nation. Wonder why?

The September 21 press release, Presidential Determination with Respect to Foreign Governments’ Efforts Regarding Trafficking in Persons, is available online:
    http://www.state.gov/g/tip/rls/prsrl/2005/53777.htm

It gives the explanation as to why each of the 14 countries was treated in the way it was.

I’ll be impressed when you get just as critical about what’s happening in, oh, Sudan let’s say, where they don’t bother trafficing in humans, they just hack them to pieces with machetes. Or Zimbabwe, where the kleptocratic Mugabe government is preparing the final confiscation of the white farmer’s lands, and meanwhile setting up the country for mass famine. I realize that if George Bush can’t be blamed for it, it’s not on your radar scope, so I won’t be holding my breath.
