Now I’m in favor of playing true hardball politically whenever it is necessary, but I think it was stupid to pick up Michael Steele’s credit report. We can beat this guy anyway without going that far. Also note that the DSCC reported the incident themselves to the state attorney, versus the usual GOP CYA at all costs strategy.
But that isn’t as dumb as what “Captain” Ed Morrisey says here
Articulate, knowledgeable, passionate, and humorous, he [Steele] embodies the communication skills of a Ronald Reagan with a keen grasp of policy.
Aw lawzy! That Michael Steele is sho nuff one of them “articulate” negroes. One of “the good ones”, you know?

Point one: I almost left a snarky, off topic remark earlier about why you hadn’t mentioned this story. So good job.
Point two: “Articulate” is in the same category as “niggardly”…best not risk it, no matter how appropriate.
Articulate (är-tky-lt) Expressing oneself easily in clear and effective language: an articulate speaker.
So paying someone a complement is now racism? Is it April 1st somewhere in the world?
Somewhere else, Orwell is laughing his ass off.
Why are you assigning a meaning to the word that you have no idea whether or not Ed intended it to have?
So let me get this straight… Black people cannot be described as articulate? Who did you say was the racist here?
why is it that every time I post something here, it gets deleted?
I made a comment similar to RightIsRight

It’d be interesting to see that report, though.
Steele’s entire career has been about living well without a high income.
As for being “passionate,” how ‘passionate’ can he be when the GOP had to pay him a salary to run for office?
Just dumb huh. OK otherwise. Not illegal or immoral. Because Democrats did it.

I would offer several examples of “inarticulate”. Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, George Voinavich, John Kerry, Shiela Jackson Lee.
“Articulate” might include Arnold, Rudi G, Bill Clinton, Condi Rice.
I find it interesting to see folks who are compelled to pass every adjective through a racial sieve.
Oliver, you need a read dictionary. Throw the one you bought from KOS out your window.
