YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Redskins 14
Cowboys 13

And the Gods smiled.

I’m shaking I’m so damn happy.

‘Skins solve Cowboys

As much as the Washington Redskins would’ve settled for any kind of victory over the Dallas Cowboys, this one was especially sweet.

Mark Brunell hit Santana Moss in stride for touchdown passes of 39 and 70 yards in the final 3:46, then the defense made it stand up, giving Washington a 14-13 victory over its top rival Monday night. The Redskins won for only the second time in their last 16 games against the longtime NFC East rival Cowboys and for the first time at Texas Stadium since 1995.

    pwn3d?

Your team still got dominated for over 55 minutes in this game, Oliver. The only reason your guys pulled it out in the end was because of two blown coverages by Roy Williams and Aaron Glenn.

Win 14 out of the next 15 and only then do I think you can claim you own the Cowboys.

  4. pwn3d?

You sound like Bush after the last election and his mandate. You dodged a curse, you guys didn’t spank the Cowboys.

  5. Oliver says:

    SCORE.
    BOARD.

(And anyone who says either one of these teams “dominated” for 55 minutes is smoking crack. But the ‘Skins did what you’re supposed to do… win.)

    SCORE.
    BOARD.

  6. Joshua Gaines says:

Damn, I turned off the TV towards the end of the third quarter because I thought the Cowboys had clenched it.

  7. buma says:

Philly fans are happy too, including this one. This was a great 4th quarter to watch. And all my red state relatives in OK and TX were turned to sheeeeit. Yee haw!

  8. doug r says:

Saw the score as Costco… Dallas 10, Washington 0.
Glad to see they turned it around!

  9. scratch says:

Guess which 90 seconds I missed? Hauled ass back to the tv after checking the score online!

  10. rightisright says:

    DAMN!!

I fell asleep at the end of the third quarter. :(

  11. elrod says:

Why did the Cowboys wear blue at home?

Great win for the Skins. First win in Dallas since 1995!

  12. Stone says:

Damn, I turned this game off at the end of the third quarter, convinced that the Skins would lose.

Nice turnaround….but the Skins don’t address their SLOPPY offense then they are toast…even in the NFC.

  13. deNoVa says:

The Nats showed back in June that winning too many one run games will eventually come back and bite you in the hiney. Same trend here. Hiney biting comes quicker in the NFL though.

Walt Harris was a monster last night. A monster. Never seen him better.

    Gem from the booth:

“Coach Gibbs, what do your grandchildren call you?”

    “Coach”

  14. JD says:

Winning a game against the likes of the Cowboys is hardly cause for celebration. Have you noticed that when good teams win games, they just go about their business, having expected to win. However, average teams, and their fans, tend to celebrate when beating another average team as is they had just won a playoff game or the Super Bowl. Fun comeback to watch, but that does not bring the Skins anywhere close to being a good team.

  15. scratch says:

    JD…

I think you’re on to something. Maybe I should just peruse the sports pages at the beginning of each season to determine which 2 or 3 teams are worth watching and routing for.

  16. JD says:

scratch, you completely missed my point. I was just pointing out that one win does not a great team make. They clearly do not “own” the Cowboys. Just seems like a lot of hornblowing and celebrating for a team that will be happy finishing at .500. You can “rout” for anyone you wish, never implied otherwise.

  17. JK says:

I wonder what it must be like to be a fan of a mediocre team.

Winning a game against the likes of the Cowboys is hardly cause for celebration.

I must have misunderstood…I took the above statement to be your point.

I’ll continue to roughte for the Redskins, and celebrate each victory…especially those that break a 9-year streak by an impossible, last minute come-from-behind.

  19. Oliver says:

3 Superbowls says I been there and done that son, and I didn’t have to wait until my 30s to see it! :)

  20. Brandon says:

“Why did the Cowboys wear blue at home?”

They were inducting Emmitt, Michael, and Troy into the Ring of Honor.
