Spending has decreased across the board when it comes to helping the middle and lower classes. But all conservatives can do is wave their hands and insist that things will get better down the road for the middle and lower classes as long as we pass just one more tax cut for the rich. Just one more spending bill for big corporations. Just one more cut in food stamps. Help is on the way. It also goes un-noticed that real wages have stagnated over the past four years.
