Nixon completely missed the pixie-ish humour of Tuck's pranks, and had Segretti off hiring hookers and bugging offices and shit. Something about that right-wing, stiff-backed, macho, squared-away, intensely-competitive, right-wing attitude. You can't be funny if you take yourself so seriously. When they try to to humour it comes off as either sadism, or, if they try to soft-pedal it, as "uh, I don't get it". Sorry. The Wagnerian Winners just don't do funny as well as us geeky, intellectual misfits.
