1-0

I’ve never felt so ho-hum about the Redskins’ first win of the season. It’s probably the fact that the score looked more like a baseball game (9-7) than an NFL contest (or that we always win the first game, followed by losing the next five million). Most annoying was Fox’s play-by-play announcer calling MARK Brunnell as SCOTT Brunnell, and referencing Pete Rozelle as the commisionner of the NFL (Rozelle has not been commissioner since 1989!). I knew these things and I don’t even receive cash compensation from a major television network to do so.

The football commentariat who decided that today’s win for the Saints means a thing in the grand scheme of things for the city of New Orleans really need to get out more. I applaud the efforts of the athletic community in helping out the folks down there, and that is what matters not whether or not Jim Haslett made the right play calls.

All in all, today’s win rates a mere “1″ on the patented OliverWillis.Com Beyonce Meter. The better the win, the more Beyonces. Go Skins!

Oh, yeah. BRING ON DALLAS.
