This would make a great full page ad in Colorado for the November Election. We have two measures on the ballot to attempt to get the state out of the whole created by the so called Taxpayers Bill of Rights. If these measures do not pass the government drowners dreams will be true for the state government will truly be small enough to drown in a bathtub.
I do wonder if the attribution to Norquist is correct and it can certainly be left off in Colorado. For well over 10 years we have had our own idiots; Tom Tancredo,, Douglas Bruce, Jon Caldera, Mike Rosen and the list goes on, who have said exactly that same thing who really knows which of the idiots said it first?
We don’t need a “strong central government” to deal with a flood or a hurricane. As you can see, if you look in the right place, (apparently you haven’t) hundreds, if not thousands of citizens — yes individual ciitizens — are donating food, money, supplies and their own sweat and blood to help the peorple of the Delta.
The problem with socialist wannabes like you, Oliver, is that you think that somehow the few thousand people in Washington, DC have some magical power when it comes to handling things that ordinary people don’t have. Near where I live, some uys — some ordinary guys — from a construction company, loaded up some trucks with water, food and rescue rafts and took the 1000 plus mile trip to New Orleans. They said they were going to stay as long as they could. Not FEMA, or EPA or LNG, or any other federal initials — just guys.
That’s who gets the job done in America. Just people.
