This post from The Corner should explain a bit to people who keep (stupidly) claiming that the disgust is only coming from the left.
I am a post-9/11 conservative who voted for the President to do a job that the Democrats and Kerry could not (or would not) do. At this point, I have zero faith in the Republican Party at the federal level to accomplish anything to make our cities safe. It appears that there has been pretty much nothing done in the way of planning for emergencies since 9/11.
In only 4 days New Orleans descended into chaos over a hurricane we had advance warning about. What in God’s name will we do when we get attacked by terrorists the next time?

Remember – Bush spent $900 million for the Iraq Survey Group to look for his fake WMDs while he was cutting New Orleans’ levee budget. Perfect example of Republican Leadership.
We need another major tax cut to help New Orleans…you know its true.
We need somebody who really knows what he is doing, like Donald Rumsfeld…(he did such a great job pre planning the war in Iraq)
And those guys who built the Homeland Security and folded emergency services into it, so they could be isolated by several more layers of bureaucracy…damn, that was a good idea.
Where is Colin Powell? He was the only competent and honest man in the first four years of this adminstration. Why is he not here, helping us?
Real Democrats, not those Bozo clones like Landrieu and Lieberman, should be screaming and yelling at these incompetent butt heads.
THe French, Germans and Canadians have all offered to help. I hope we turn them down. They are too liberal, and besides, what would the terrorists think…that we cant solve our own problems?
The news that going around the world is that America is much weaker and much poorer than anyone could have ever imagined.
