I would also drop the Truman shirt, at least with that slogan. But do point out that brand dem won WWII. I think the first period should go in Kick. Ass. “Kick Ass” I think is better. I’m not crazy about Hillary is my copilot, but perhaps that’s because I am waiting for her to go to Crawford.
And I apologize, but who is that in the Buck stops here? Is that Buck Henry? (if so, I’ve always loved the guy, but I think it’s a bit obscure for brand dem.) Sorry for being clueless….
O Dub,
Boot the “Truman Dropped the Bomb” nonsense.
It’s a regrettable piece of U.S. history that we should’ve disavowed long ago and I doubt that even most of those who support it find it appropriate to place. on a t-shirt.
I do, however, like the other shirts.
I disagree about Truman. I believe the right decision was made, and if it had to be made again – it should have. Buck stops here is none other than Harry Truman.
Well I am embarrassed I didn’t recognize Harry Truman. I blame it on too much of Buck Henry’s Get Smart when I was a kid.
Buck Henry
The dropping of the Atomic bombs probably saved my grandfather. He was gearing up for the final invasion of Japan and the military fascists were planning to fight to the death. Despite how bloody it was Fat man and little boy saved lives.
Whether the decision was correct or not, and there is a very grave discussion to be had over it, it is stupid and wrong to go about using such a mass killing as a party political slogan. I suggest a new t-shirt “WILLIS DROPPED THE BALL “.
I agree that nuking Japan was necessary. But it’s not necessary to celebrate it. Was firebombing Tokyo necessary? Dresden? Why not put those on a shirt, too?
“Truman dropped the bomb” is absolutely sick. I thought Bush was bad… Oliver Willis, drop that t-shirt and post an apology. Those bombs killed 210,000 people in the most horrendous manner.
Regardless of the controversial discussion of them shortening the war or not, these bombs are just as bad as chemical weapons. One should not be proud of using them.
The moment you glorify violence deliberately aimed at civilian populations, you loose all moral authority.
I vote for dropping the “bomb” T-shirt…whether right, or wrong…it was devastating and shouldn’t be a rallying cry.
Leave the glorification of death to the Republicans.
I like the shirt because it’s offensive. Liberals aren’t supposed to be like those conservatives pussies who are scared of negro boobs on TV or video games.
The message is quite simple, as horrible as any bombing may be, when liberals bomb something, they bomb the enemy.
YEAY! We Kill People TOO@!!! YEAY! MY PARTY THE KILLINGEST OF THEM ALL!!!
FUCK THE DEMS IF THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT TO PUBLICIZE!
NADER IS GAINING STRENGTH!!!
