Sometimes I wish Bush was a flip-flopper, or quit listening to Rove, Card, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

"Since when does refusing to alter your position, even in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary, represent having principles ? "

When you're a Bush supporter, apparently. See "intelligent design." Accusations of "flip flopping" do not impress me as very good arguments.

Hey Pionar,

Try reading the lead of the thread - right at the top. Edwards voted for the war. The title talks about a signal to the effect that he is now coming out against the war - a new "tack". If you don't believe Edwards has changed his position on the war, your argument would seem to be with the presumption of this thread - now wouldn't it?

Oh, come on Dugger. Not the flip-flop bullshit again. This isn't even flip-flopping. The whole ChiTrib article is crap. How can Edwards shift against the war when he hasn't said word one about this? There's not one quote from him or any of his people in the article. There's one from a spokesman speaking about Elizabeth.

I thought he had shifted, too, until I actually read the email she sent (thanks for linking, O). She said nothing about being against the war. She says that the president is wrong when he claims he understands the hurt he's caused military families. This is more her calling Bush a pompous ass than saying the war was wrong.

This paragraph sums up the whole email nicely:

Whether you agree or disagree with every part, or any part, of what Cindy wants to say, you know it is better that the President hear different opinions, particularly from those with such a deep and personal interest in the decisions of our government. Today, another voice would be helpful.

Try reading more than the media puts out.

Or it could augur a presidential run by Elizabeth herself. John, Liz, either one's fine with me.

"a new tack"

What does he really believe in? Does he have principles? "I was for the war now I'm against it" didn't work for Kerry.

Dugger, "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. "
