I truly feel for this lady. Though I find her politics objectionable, it really seems like she has quite a bit on her plate right now. I hope and trust that she will be able to find some type of peace in her life, and I hope that the disagreements with her family members can be set aside during this time of personal crisis.
Very well spoken, JD. Sometimes when we get carried away trying to make a point is gets a little nasty from both sides. Its good to know that we are all human and all Americans first.
In the few articles I’ve read about the war in the past week, both have said we’re absolutely at a “tipping point” with regard to American public opinion on this war.
You may not like Cindy Sheehan’s politics, but at least she doesn’t pull any punches. She makes it very clear what her agenda is. I think we’re at the point now where more people are beggining to see things *her* way, than they are Limbaugh’s way, or Coulter’s.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld will increasingly be seen as being in a “bubble,” out of the mainstream of Amereican public opinion.
On Limbaugh, Coulter, Liddy and the rest of the GOP “Shock-Jocks.” Think about this: At the end of the day, nothing they do, or will do, will make a real difference. Can they influence elections and public opinion? Sure. But on a professional level…what has *any* of them ever done to make the world a better place. I’m hard pressed.
I don’t feel sorry for them. I just don’t like people like Coulter, Hannity (author of “Deliver us from Evil”..liberal evil), Liddy and Limbaugh. Why? Because they’re lousy human beings.
That’s all for now.
JK
Because they re lousy human beings.
And I’m sure you know all of them personally.
I feel for Cindy Sheehan as well. I just wonder how she achieved this status where any criticism of the things she has said is automatically equated with “smearing” her personally.
>>And I m sure you know all of them personally.
I really don’t need to. I know enough. I judge people by what they do and say, and Coulter, Hannity, Liddy, Limbaugh and company have done enough, and said enough for a volume of work.
And you’re questioning me for calling them lousy people because I haven’t his the pleasure (or displeasure of) meeting them? They’re *highly* public personnas, Jay. Learn, dude…learn.
You never new the Unabomber, did you Jay? Do I need to know him to come to the conclusion that he’s not a very decent person?
>>>I just wonder how she achieved this status where any criticism of the things she has said is automatically equated with smearing her personally.
Substitute for “I just wonder how I achieved this status where any criticism of the things I’ve said is automatically equated with smearing my patriotism.”
And you re questioning me for calling them lousy people because I haven t his the pleasure (or displeasure of) meeting them? They re *highly* public personnas, Jay. Learn, dude& learn.
I didn’t say ‘meet’ them. I said ‘know’ them. I’ve met Sean Connery. It doesn’t mean that I know the guy. And if you’re going to rate a person as a lousy human being based upon their public persona, that’s pretty pathetic.
You never new the Unabomber, did you Jay? Do I need to know him to come to the conclusion that he s not a very decent person?
Let’s see. The last time I checked, Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter weren’t MURDERERS. Good grief, what a stupid fucking comparison.
>>And if you re going to rate a person as a lousy human being based upon their public persona, that s pretty pathetic.
There’s a body of “work” created by Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity that provides anyone with a modicum of good sense enough information to make a determination that they aren’t particularly kind to people of the liberal persuation. Do you, or do you not admit that they say pretty bad things about people like me, Jay, and that they say it to millions of people on a daily basis?
Check out OW’s new link to the things Coulter has said about liberals.
I’d rather judge people based on their behavior, but in the case of Coulter, Limbaugh, Malkin and Hannity….what they *say* to millions of people is what they do for a living.
Of course it exists on both sides, but I think Bill Maher is right when he says that Republicans are angrier people and that Democrats need to find some of that anger if they have any plans to get back into the driver’s seat. You’ve got more angry people creating more angry noise to willing, impressionable listeners. I’ve said this for years, so it should be no surprise to you, that I don’t think that right-wing talk radio has been particularly good for this country.
