Magalangapalooza

Michelle Malkin has decided that she’s going to expand her flirty right-wing horizons beyond the issue of closing off America’s borders, and has inserted herself into the anti-Cindy Sheehan operation being organized by the Republicans. But what our believed Michelle doesn’t seem to get is that bloggers are actually paying attention to her lies and introducing a little bit of factual data (these righties need whatever they can get) to her world. It’s a thing of beauty.

Their attacks on Cindy Sheehan must be winning them lots of sympathy points among the non-wingnuts.

  2. martian says:

You bet your ass we are, as well as Bill O’Reilly’s ad hominem bullshit arguments. Instead of debating the FACTS, they run a smear campaign instead. Check out the Martian Anthropologist for my take on things…

  3. Mike says:

Make sure you read some of the thoughtful and kind emails she has received from the peace-loving anti-war crowd:

  4. JSVB says:

Heh, yes, let’s all feel sorry for the poor racist wingnut lunatic because people are totally fed up with her crap.

Heh, yes, let s all feel sorry for the poor racist wingnut lunatic because people are totally fed up with her crap.

And I suppose calling her a cunt and wishing death upon her family is deserved?

  6. O.Y.E. says:

Well whaddya know? The head of a large organization fires an employee who commits improper conduct.

If only that legal secretary had been working in the White House — she probably would have been promoted and given a medal.

  7. Tuco Ramirez the Rat says:

Nice post you linked to there, Oliver.

One of the commenters shamed the author into removing the (pointless unless you’re a racist) ethnic identification of Malkin. (That’s the name she uses, by the way. Are you trying to make a point by calling her by her birth name? How many seconds would it take for a conservative blogger to be accused of racism if he or she constantly referred to a certain Senatorial candidate in Maryland as Frizzell Gray?)

Still, there is the poetic justice of one of these so-called “progressive” brainiacs being fired for brilliantly using his employer’s e-mail server to call her names that I will not repeat here and wishing her dead.

    Dear Ms. Malkin,

I am the Managing Shareholder of the law firm of Ogletree Deakins with offices located across the country. I was very disturbed to learn today that a legal secretary in our Los Angeles office sent you the vile e-mail referenced on your home page. Such remarks are clearly inappropriate in any context and an e-mail such as this certainly should not have been sent during working time using our firm’s equipment. The comments of this employee are not reflective of the views or opinions of the firm and are directly in violation of our e-mail policy. As Managing Shareholder, I wanted to extend to you our apologies and let you know that this serious violation of our firm’s work rules has resulted in the discharge of this employee.

Once again, let me offer you our deepest apologies for any discomfort that the referenced e-mail has caused. It will not happen again.

    Sincerely,

    Gray Geddie

Now, excuse me while I indulge in a hearty guffaw:

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

  8. BD says:

So what have we learned? People on the left and the right can go too far with their attacks and be unmitigated assholes.

Except Malkin somehow has the gall to do it on national television, where everyone can see. Speaking for Casey Sheehan was about as low a blow as anything.

  9. PSU94 says:

Wow, you liberals sure do love the “C” word. Don’t any of you people have a wife, or a girlfriend, or a mom? (Actually, I doubt most of the liberals here have either of the first two.)

  10. trevorwells says:

The right-wing colored girl extraordinaire deserves all the venom she receives from the left. Her book, “In Defense of Internment.” merits an honorable mention in the white supremacist book club, if there is such a thing. A self loathing race traitor of the highest order, Michelle believes God placed her on this earth to be an apologist for white supremacy and imperialism. Her lunacy borders on mental illness. She justifies the internment of loyal resident Japanese-American nationals during World War II as a means to support and legitimize the racial profiling and illegal detention of Arab Americans today by the Bush Administration. Her tome is a masterpiece of delusion and bigotry. Her beauty and brilliance combine to make her malevolent musings marketable and ultimately credible to a miseducated and gullible public programmed to accept simple solutions to complex problems. Michelle s demonic propaganda is a threat to civil liberties across the globe and is at the root of the assassination of the innocent Brazilian man by Scotland Yard after the latest terrorist bombing in London.

  11. Tuco Ramirez the Rat says:

    O.Y.E. said:

Well whaddya know? The head of a large organization fires an employee who commits improper conduct.

Well whaddya know? It took me pointing to the fact that a company took a reasonable position with respect to the behavior of one of its employees for someone to acknowledge that behavior was inappropriate?

Unitl I did that, all there were were variations on the theme that she deserved it because people were “fed up with her crap.”

The other pure genius of this guy who wrote the e-mail is that he worked for a company that represented employers concerning their relationships with their employees. How smart is that? I’m still laughing over that one.

    O.Y.E. also said:

If only that legal secretary had been working in the White House she probably would have been promoted and given a medal.

Nice way to try and change the subject, but as long as you brought it up, do you know of any White House employees who have been promoted and given a medal for sending an e-mail wishing someone dead and calling her a C**T?

    Come on, we’re all waiting

  12. Dugger says:

    trevorwells,

If this “colored girl” you hate so much is (”Her book, In Defense of Internment. merits an honorable mention in the white supremacist book club, if there is such a thing.”) a racist in your eyes for defending internment, may we assume then that you consider the man who approved of and implementted the policy, that Malkin merely discusses, to be an even greater and more destructive white supremacist? Maybe one of history’s great criminals. it will be intresting to hear your response because not too long ago this web site was recommending the firing of a netwrok newscaster for merely diagreeing with a relatives interpretation’s of this man’s remarks.

    Dugger

  13. Tuco Ramirez the Rat says:

Michelle s demonic propaganda is a threat to civil liberties across the globe and is at the root of the assassination of the innocent Brazilian man by Scotland Yard after the latest terrorist bombing in London.

I think you ought to check with your pharmacy to see if your prescription is ready. Seriously.

  14. Jay C says:

We don t run ours for office.

Bwahahahaha!!! That’s a good one. You almost had me for a second.

Why does Michelle and the other wingnuts insist on smearing the mother of a murdered soldier?

Why does a person with an obvious political agenda get a free pass?

The left has no problem smearing and villifying soldiers and the parents of whom suppor the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don’t know any better. So please, spare us all the phony outrage.

  15. O.Y.E. says:

The left has no problem smearing and villifying soldiers and the parents of whom suppor the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better.

No Jay, that’s something YOUR side does:

    Story here
Staff Sgt. Jason Rivera, 26, a Marine recruiter in Pittsburgh, went to the home of a high school student who had expressed interest in joining the Marine Reserve to talk to his parents.
It was a large home in a well-to-do suburb north of the city. Two American flags adorned the yard. The prospect’s mom greeted him wearing an American flag T-shirt.

“I want you to know we support you,” she gushed.

Rivera soon reached the limits of her support.

“Military service isn’t for our son. It isn’t for our kind of people,” she told him.

  16. Jadegold says:

    The Repugs protest too much.

Are the emails posted by Maglalang beyond the pale? You bet. But I guarantee they represent a small sliver of a small fracton of Americans who are outraged by Maglalang’s smear of Cindy Sheehan, her blatant racism, and her serial dishonesty.

And let’s face it—instances of racism or threats of violence are hallmarks of the GOP and its adherents. Yeah, you can find similar isolated instances on the left if you look pretty hard. But a cursory glance at the rightwing reveals racism, hate-speech and violence are standard features of today’s conservatism.

  17. O.Y.E. says:

    Tuco,

I’m not saying the secretary’s behavior was improper or inappropriate per se — Malkin DOES deserve it. She’s out there in the public arena, she’s gotta deal with the consequences when she shoots her mouth off.

No, I don’t know of any White House employees promoted and given medals for sending profanity-laced emails, but I know of several Bush Administration officials who were rewarded with Presidential Medals of Freedom and job promotions for putting together an illegal, immoral war that has killed or maimed hundreds of thousands of people and made the world less safe. I also know of at least two other Administration officials who broke the law by outing a covert intelligence agent and have not been given their walking papers yet DESPITE their boss’ pledge to the American people that he would.

But calling someone the c word in an email is much, much worse, right?

  18. SaveFarris says:

So we have nuts on our side. Big deal. We don t run ours for office.

So says a member of the party that treated Dennis Kuchinich and Al Sharpton as serious candidates for President and elected Howard Dean to be their party chairman…

  19. neoconsrloopy says:

So we have nuts on our side. Big deal. We don’t run ours for office. We also don’t make them popular pundits, and they don’t appear on tv and radio like Ms. Maglalang.

But again, the TOPIC of this post was Maglalang’s attacks on Cindy Sheehan. Why does Michelle and the other wingnuts insist on smearing the mother of a murdered soldier?

  20. Jay C says:

But a cursory glance at the rightwing reveals racism, hate-speech and violence are standard features of today s conservatism.

You’re like that Jon Lovitz SNL character Tommy Flanagan.

  21. mr.curmudgeon says:

How smart is that? I m still laughing over that one.

The guy is an idiot. No one here is defending him. He got what he deserved.

do you know of any White House employees who have been promoted and given a medal for sending an e-mail wishing someone dead and calling her a C**T?

Well, I know several that have promoted for starting an unnecessary war that actually KILLED thousands of people. But I guess that doesn’t count.

In the words of their boss, “Go fuck yourself”….C**T.

  22. mr.curmudgeon says:

Just proof, once again, that Rethugs can dish it out, but they can not take it. She would NEVER say those sorts of things to Sheehan’s face and in my book, if you say things you wouldn’t repeat to the person you’re speaking about…You are nothing more than a cowardly bully.

Much like O’Reilly, Rush, Hannity, Swift Liars, Rove, Frist, DeLay, Santorum, Bush and Cheney. Cowards. All of ‘em.

  23. Jadegold says:

Why does a person with an obvious political agenda get a free pass?

Let’s look at this for a moment. What political agenda is Cindy Sheehan working towards? After all, she’s not getting her son back.

OTOH, what agenda does Maglalang have in pretending to know a dead soldier (whom she hadn’t the faintest idea of his existence until well after he died) better than his mother , family, and friends?

    Pretty obvious answer.

The left has no problem smearing and villifying soldiers and the parents of whom suppor the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better.

Bg strawman. The left doesn’t attack soldiers; instead, it attacks those who would squander soldiers’ lives based on lie and inept leadership.

  24. mr.curmudgeon says:

    JayC,

Do you have any proof to back up your assertions, or are you just blowing smoke again?

  25. Quaker in a Basement says:

Jay, I’m sure you must have at least one example of the “smearing and vilifying” by The Left you mentioned above.

    Share it, please.

  26. Jay C says:

What political agenda is Cindy Sheehan working towards? After all, she s not getting her son back.

Precisely. So then why is she writing for Michael Moore, blaming neo-cons and Israel for the war and taking up for anti-zionist organizations? Is any of that going to get her son back? Having a bunch of left wing fruit loops and hacks comparing what she’s doing to Selma and equating what she’s doing to the Chinese student who stood in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square is absurd and completely lacks anything constructive.

The left doesn t attack soldiers

    Whatever you say Flanagan.

  27. Jadegold says:

Jay can’t help but smear the mom of a dead soldier. Anti-zionist organizations? Why do I have the suspicion this alleged link wll be lke Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon?

As for writng for Michael Moore–so what? What’s it bring you? Perhaps the same view of the war in Iraq shared by more than half of all Americans?

    Big agenda.

I’d remind Jay he claimed the left attacks and villifies our soldiers; the burden of proof is his. But thnk the bar is set far too low for Jay; there may well be some anonymous commenter on some obscure lefty blog that has done so.

But let’s remember who s smearing the mom of a dead soldier; these are people who routinely appear on TV and write syndicated columns.

  28. neoconsrloopy says:

Ferris, fine with me, though you should be spreading that message in Iraq, rather than here. You do want to support your president, right?

Why do you smear mothers of dead soldiers?

  29. mr.curmudgeon says:

    JayC,

The left has no problem smearing and villifying[sic] soldiers and the parents of whom suppor [sic] the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better. So please, spare us all the phony outrage.

More specious claims. You are an lying asshole. Show me an instance of the left , systematically villifying soldiers whom suppor the President or shut your putrid pie-hole.

As for the GOP s respect for soldiers with differing opinions, let me remind you of Conservative stalwart Morton Blackwell, handing out purple heart band-aids at the RNC convention. How sweet and respectful. Just because they disagreed with Kerry, they decided to diminish those who served.

Let me remind you of the systematic marketing and promotion of the Swift Boat fiasco. Real respect there. It involved entire publishing companies, Fox News, Sinclair broadcasting with 100 s of affiliate channels, etc. Systematic smearing of a veterans service. It tarnished *all* veterans and diminished their service.

Let me remind you of GOP superstar, Giuliani in the run-up to the 2004 election. When asked to respond to the notion that the Al-Qaqaa munitions dump being unprotected was the fault of the pentagon s short-sighted civilian leadership, McCain actually BLAMED THE SOLDIERS for not protecting it even though they were ordered to advance on Baghdad (I lost all respect for him when he did this).

No matter how you try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough didn t they search carefully enough? Giuliani said.

Let me remind you of the smears against McCain in 2000, denigrating his service and FIVE YEARS OF TORTURE at the hands of the enemy. Once again Dubya and his clan show their true colors and utter lack of respect for military service.

    Let me remind you of a quote from our venerable, fearless, commander-in-chief, who, when asked by the Dallas Morning News, Feb. 25, 1990 to explain his avoidance of the Vietnam conflict, responded thusly;

I was not prepared to shoot my eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment. Nor was I willing to go to Canada. So I chose to better myself by learning how to fly airplanes.

AWESOME!!! Way to honor those who served in his stead. He shows real faith in the military and respect for the glory of military service.

Face it, you support a pathetic bunch of privileged cowards. The left has done nothing but work to stop the death and destruction wrought in America s name. There has never been a coordinated effort by the left to villify soldiers who support Bush. It s lies.

So, once again, stop the blatant lies and shut your pie-hole.

  32. SaveFarris says:

If “nuts” means Republicans are evil and never worked a day in their lives, Bush knew about 9/11 beforehand, and YEEEEAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!, then by all means HoDean is … well you know.

I’ll be happy to help you get out the message that you consider HoDean and Kuchinich as the mainstream of the Dem Party. More than happy to help…

  33. JSVB says:

The right is always happy to trash military service…so long as the vet in question leans left. Look up Max Cleland or Paul Hackett if you need examples.

Wow. The trolling here is intense, even for Oliver’s page. Must have really hit a nerve, calling out Ms. Magalang’s unbelievable BS. And by all means please keep telling yourselves she, and by proxy you, are the victims here.

  34. neoconsrloopy says:

Yea, Curmudgeon but but there was a person on one of those left-wing anti-smoking site that said the troops weren’t dying for a noble cause so there!

It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad, the way these people run to smear anyone with the temerity to question the king. Isn’t it always true that the bigger flag people wave, the less worthy they are of the values embodied in that flag?

  35. O.Y.E. says:

The story you linked to doesn t say anything at all about political affiliation. Do you know the family in question?

    Let’s see…
    - a large home

    - 2 American flags adorning the yard
    - a middle-aged woman wearing an American flag T-shirt
    - she “gushes” about how much she supports the military

  39. Jay C says:

Oh but what proof do I need to provide? Tell you what. I’ll just do what you clowns do when I ask for evidence of your asinine accusations:

“Well, if you think that’s not the case, then you’re just crazy (or stupid or dumb or ignorant or etc).”

The attacks come in the form of condescension masked as sympathy. “Oh these young guys are just poor and uneducated. They just don’t know any better.” Proof? A lefty favorite: Ted Rall.

And mr.curmudgeon, I don’t respond to demands from some anonymous twerp on the Internet so kindly piss off.

  40. neoconsrloopy says:

That was a little over the top sirkowski, don’t you think? One would think you’re a Republican with all that racism.

  41. Quaker in a Basement says:

The attacks come in the form of condescension masked as sympathy. Oh these young guys are just poor and uneducated. They just don t know any better. Proof? A lefty favorite: Ted Rall.

Jay, the Ted Rall article you link suggests that the Bush administration has lied to the young men and women of our armed forces about our reason for being in Iraq.

However you judge Mr. Rall’s article, I think it’s something of a stretch to suggest that it’s the same as “smearing and vilifying” soldiers and their parents.

Maybe you had another example in mind?

  42. Jadegold says:

Not a real convincing example, Jay. As most can see, Rall is writing from the perspective of an insurgent leader (aka ‘the enemy’) as satire. Pretending Rall was attackng or villifying troops stretches credulity beyond the breaking point.

  43. SaveFarris says:

    Ha, ha, ha.

Can’t you guys ever come up with any material other than “chickenhawk”?

    Reality-based, indeed!

  44. neoconsrloopy says:

He comes up with a cartoonist. Unreal. Caruso’s “brain” must be liquid. The better question is, what are the six degrees between Ted Rall and “The Left”? Is Newman from Seinfeld one of them? Please tell me it is!

  45. neoconsrloopy says:

OYE, they’re too busy “fighting the war of ideas”. Though I’ll give Dugger a pass, he served according to him.

  46. Jay C says:

You posted on a public forum and now you want to hide behind your keyboard, you CHICKENSHIT!

Who’s hiding? You’re the one posting anonymously.

    ROFL!!!

I should have known. Anybody who uses LOL and ROFL shortcuts are indicative of the kind of feeble minds that spent a good part of their time in Internet chat rooms.

I should get myself a blog& I know I can do better than your pathetic arguments.

So what’s stopping you? Maybe posts with ROFL!!! and LOL!! wouldn’t go over very well.

    Idiot.

  47. Jay C says:

Indeed, the soldiers are themselves oppressed members of America’s vast underclass. Many don’t want to be here; joining America’s mercenary army is the only way they can afford to attend university. Others, because they are poor and uneducated, do not understand that they are being used as pawns

This is not satire and is a consistent view in the mindset of the far left in this country. How is suggesting that troops are too stupid to realize what they’re doing not smearing them? Please, explain that to me.

And with regard to smearing, need I remind you of the left’s attempts to go after Lisa Beamer. Why? Well, she had the audacity to support President Bush of course.

The faux outrage over the questioning of Cindy Sheehan is pretty pathetic.

  48. mr.curmudgeon says:

Who s hiding? You re the one posting anonymously.

What? You want my home address or something? My name is Dave Fedorko, I live in Lowell, MA. and you sir have yet to make a valid argument in this thread.

Where are the examples of “THE LEFT!!!” systematically “villifying” Pro-Bush soldiers?

I’ll be waiting, while I spread the word all over the IRC, that JayC can’t defend his broad-brush, red-herring statements.

Btw, I always get a kick out of deflating egos just like yours. You make it so easy.

  49. nawoods says:

“So we have nuts on our side. Big deal. We don t run ours for office. We also don t make them popular pundits, and they don t appear on tv and radio like Ms. Maglalang.”

I could not let this one go because I live in Cynthia McKinney’s district (OUCH)!!!! And I love the way Sharpton was dismissed, and turned into a republican product. Spectacular twist of logic, and highly entertaining.

The levels of doublethink you people have to put yourselves through to come up with some of this stuff is amazing. You call Malkin a racist, and then use absolutely racist language in order to prove she is. And to make things even better, you justify your racist language by saying she deserves it because she is a racist. Its a neverending feedback loop of hate. I would venture to guess that most of you here haven’t even taken the time to read the book. You are just spouting out the “talking points” (god I hate myself now for bringing that in, sorry neoconsrloopy) you’ve read elsewhere and jumping on with the rest of the “team”.

  50. mr.curmudgeon says:

And mr.curmudgeon, I don t respond to demands from some anonymous twerp on the Internet so kindly piss off.

But you did. So again you’re not being honest. How hard is it to throw up a blog and spew inanities anyhow? You certainly find it fairly easy to do. You posted on a public forum and now you want to hide behind your keyboard, you CHICKENSHIT! If you can’t even be bothered to defend your tripe, why should any of us listen to you?

Oh but what proof do I need to provide?

ROFL!!! I rest my case. Ted Rall? I show you examples of the upper echelon of the GOP (included the freakin’ President) systematically smearing veterans who hold views opposing their own, and you prop up Ted Rall as an example of a vast left-wing conspiracy to smear pro-Bush soldiers??? TED RALL!!!??? LOL.

I should get myself a blog…I know I can do better than your pathetic arguments.

I’m glad my post illicted your comment. I’m proud to be the “anonymous twerp” that brought out your extremely laughable example!

I count at least 5 pro-war Bush supporters hanging around this message board right now.

If you guys would take the time and energy you’re wasting right now posting comments on a blog and use it for more important things — like aiding the Iraq War effort, which you seem to support wholeheartedly — things probably wouldn’t be so bad over there.

I’m not just talking about putting on a uniform, grabbing a gun and shipping off for Iraq (although it would certainly help). I’m talking about other things that wouldn’t necessarily require you to risk life and limb: like volunteering at a V.A. hospital or a U.S.O., holding a fund-raiser to buy armor and other supplies, offering to help a military family that’s fallen on hard times.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
    Sign up or shut up.

When Kerry was nominated, a groan went up in my state. Why? because he was a decorated veteran and everybody knows that they are all treasonous cowards. Purple heart? Means nothing.

During Vietnam, the dominant comment was that only stupid white guys and minorities would wind up ducking ammunition in Viet Nam. Cheyney, Rumsfeld, Bush and the rest have proven that.

Mrs. Sheehan has to accept the she has no right to criticize the war and the President just because she can’t deal with the fact that her son is just so much ‘cannon fodder’ to this adminstration.

As for Malkin, how many members of her family fought or died for this America? And why hasn’t she been relocated to some camp for traitorous Filipinos?

  53. Quaker in a Basement says:

So as I understand it, Jay, Ted Rall and someone named Steve Perry represent The Left in all matters of public discourse.

Now that we’ve established that, shall we similarly determine who speaks for The Right?

  54. scratch says:

    O.Y.E…

I’m sorry, you seem to have missed my question: can you describe to me the political affiliation of the family that was featured in your link, which you used to attack “my side”?

As for the rest of your post…you claim much knowledge of me but demonstrate none. It may help bolster your post with other readers if you explain to them my occupational history. After you have done that then we can discuss the “signing up or shutting up” part. On the other hand, if you are unable to do that, it might highlight the utter baselessness of your post.

  55. SaveFarris says:

Tell me again why you won t serve

Well, I also support the work our local police officers, so I have to spend time walking a beat.
In addition, I support the fire department, so I’m working a shift there too, not to mention having to pick up garbage twice a week for the Sanitation Dept.
Plus, I have to teach a 3rd grade class (cause I support Education), deliver food to the elderly (since I’m a fan of welfare programs), dig ditches for the Public Works Dept as well as the State Highway Commission, mow the lawn of our local park, shelve books at the library, and drive a city bus.

After all that, who has the time?

  56. Jay C says:

Let’s qualify my statement shall we? It was:

The left has no problem smearing and villifying soldiers and the parents of whom suppor the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better. So please, spare us all the phony outrage.

Here is what I will change it to:

Some on The left has have no problem smearing and villifying soldiers and the parents of whom support the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better. So please, spare us all the phony outrage.

I admit that my original statement was too broad a stroke. Of course this blog is filled with the term “the right” and I don’t see you guys getting worked up into a lather about that. Look at the results. The second one is a title of an entry that says, “The Right Hates Freedom and America.”

  57. mr.curmudgeon says:

    Zappa,

Mr. C – that was an excellent recap of Republican leaders support for troops. Thanks.

    You are welcome. I even forgot to include Rove’s total disrespect for all Democratic and/or Liberal soldiers currently fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, when he said;

“Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.”

Nice huh? As if the left-leaning guys/girls fighting to stay alive out there are offering any type of therapy to their attackers, other than that which comes out of the end of a gun.

  58. Zappa says:

The bottom line here is that Michelle and others are afraid of the Cindy’s of the world – they are afraid the American public will hear her and look at the this “War”. They always attack the ones they are most afraid of the hardest.

Mr. C – that was an excellent recap of Republican leaders support for troops. Thanks.

  59. JK says:

I dunno. None of my “vast” network of liberal friends has ever said a bad word about a soldier. At least that I can remember. If they did, I’d take them to task for it.

    >> parents of whom support the President as nothing more than a bunch of uneducated hillbillies who don t know any better.

There is little wrong with that statement. People, whether parents or not, who support the President are making uneducated decisions. Who else would continue to stand behind a President that is mangling the war on terror that has cost 1,800 American lives and countless injured and disabled.

I’ll tell you who. Stupid people.

    JK

  60. Zappa says:

Sorry RT – I find that when the last sheet faces the comode, my cats tend to play with the roll and pile TP everywhere, but if I have the sheet facing the wall then the roll just spins when they bat at it…can I still be an American?
    :)

  61. mr.curmudgeon says:

    Btw, JayC…

I’m 5′ 11” tall, 180 pounds, brown eyes, brown hair…I like to curl up with a good book and a warm latte, love long walks on the beach and I hate right-wing blowhards who make generalized, completely erroneous statements about an entire contingent of people.

Prove your statement, or admit you were wrong to say it? Or better yet, that you blatantly lied because you are a shill. (Think we’ll get that far?)

Remember: We said “The Left”, which means you have to show a systemic vilification of “Pro-Bush” soldiers fighting in Iraq. Not some cartoonists parody. If you ignore this challenge, we can all just assume you are admitting defeat since you are obviously reading my comments.

  62. Russell Tupper says:

At the end of the day, when all is said and done, at least we can all agree on one single thing:

That the toilet paper roll should be hung with the next sheet facing the commode, rather than facing the wall.

As long as we can agree on that, we can all be Americans.

    -RT

  63. neoconsrloopy says:

Steve Perry is a “Lefty”? Who knew he was against the troops when he was playing with Journey?

  64. Jay C says:

and you sir have yet to make a valid argument in this thread.

And you have? Calling people Rethugs? Saying “Go fuck yourself.” Those are valid arguments? Spare me Fedorko.

Btw, I always get a kick out of deflating egos just like yours. You make it so easy.

You did? You’re the one printing in bold caps things like, “YOU CHICKENSHIT!!!” and “You are an lying asshole” and “shut your putrid pie-hole.” What you get out of such childish nonsense is a boost to your own ego, not the deflation of somebody else’s. You probably do so to make up for whatever other shortcomings you might have.

Now that we ve established that, shall we similarly determine who speaks for The Right?

I already know. It’s Rick Santorum, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.

And here we go with another round of the tripe that says, “If you don’t sign up, then you had better shut up.” This time from OYE. Again with the lectures about what I should be doing. Of course, this person doesn’t know who anybody here is or what they do, but he obviously has nuts the size of basketballs for thinking he has any moral standing to tell us what we should be doing. Of course, I’ll bet that OYE has never even SEEN the inside of a VA hospital, let alone volunteered in one. But then again, he doesn’t have to. You see, he’s opposed to the war. Therefore, he believes that it elevates him to some kind of status that allows him to dictate to others what they should do with their time.

  65. Jay C says:

Who else would continue to stand behind a President that is mangling the war on terror that has cost 1,800 American lives and countless injured and disabled.

I ll tell you who. Stupid people.

And what does it say JK, of those people who worship at the altar of President John F. Kennedy who set into motion the process that would eventually lead to the deaths of 58,000 American lives and over 300,000 wounded? Youve stated in the past you think JFK was one of the greatest Presidents of all time. Yet he was largely responsible for Vietnam. LBJ fucked it up real good, but he had to go with what he was left with after JFK was killed.

  66. Jadegold says:

Jay C once again proves the GOP is never accountable for anything…even if they are.

Hey, JFK screwed up. LBJ certainly didn’t make things better. But Nixon really screwed the pooch given that he had the lessons of 2 previous administrations to serve as a guide.

Deflect. Obfuscate. Lie. The Caruso MO.

  67. Jay C says:

when you see a crime taking place you get out of the way and make some poor white or a minority person step in and handle it.

There you go! Right there. The suggestion that it it’s just “poor whites” and “minorities” who are fighting in Iraq. Of course, that myth has totally been debunked, but hey, why get in the way good political blather?

  68. SaveFarris says:

Let’s not forget FDR. How many American deaths was that bastard responsible for?

  69. O.Y.E. says:

I ll be sure and bookmark this for the next time a lefty makes the claim that it s the Right that throw around unsubstantiated racial allegations seeking to divide.

Please do, Farris. That way, when your kids come up to you years from now and ask, “Daddy, what did you do during the Iraq War?” you’ll have something handy that will show them the kind of person you are.

Just be sure to explain to them that O.Y.E. stands for “Operation Yellow Elephant.”

  70. Dugger says:

    OYE

“Sign up or shut up. ”

Take your yellow elephant and kindly stuff it.

    Did you serve?

    Dugger

  71. Jadegold says:

    OYE is exactly right.

When all these chickenhawks get asked by their kids (shudder) or grandkids, ‘what did you do during the Iraq War?–they can puff out their chests and boldly state “I called a dead serviceman’s mom a whore.”

  72. SaveFarris says:

when you see a crime taking place you get out of the way and make some poor white or a minority person step in and handle it.

I’ll be sure and bookmark this for the next time a lefty makes the claim that it’s the Right that throw around unsubstantiated racial allegations seeking to divide.

  73. O.Y.E. says:

    Real funny, Farris.

I guess while you’re walking the police beat, when you see a crime taking place you get out of the way and make some poor white or a minority person step in and handle it. And when they get killed and their mother demands answers from the police chief, you start up a smear campaign against them.

  74. JSVB says:

Wow. Now they’re insisting WE should be the ones inlisting. For the war that WE were against. And of course, they’re all far too busy to be bothered with enlisting, because after all, all those guardsmen currently risking their lives in Iraq didn’t have anything better to do than to crawl into GW’s personal meatgrinder.

We use the term ‘chickenhawk’ because it works so well. Why should we replace it? :P

  75. burnitup says:

    Jade,
And what will you tell your progeny?

That I (the anti-war/anti-Israel crowd) pimped out a grief stricken soldier s mom for the sake of publicity ? I told her to lie to the press (which lapped up the story without even checking) about having never met the President and then change her story about the meeting when confronted ? I ignored the cries of her family (http://www.drudgereport.com/flashcs.htm) telling her to shut up because she wasn t speaking for her son.

This woman is clearly being used and manipulated by the fringe anti-war movement. Why don t you check out http://www.crawfordpeacehouse.org/

  76. JSVB says:

    Jadegold: Heh.

  77. Jay C says:

Jay C once again proves the GOP is never accountable for anything& even if they are.

Excuse me Flanagan, but you once again prove your inability to read for content. This wasn’t about accountability, but rather about the observation that only a stupid person could still support the President. Gad you’re such a twit.

Since JK thinks JFK was the greatest President ever, it seems kind of STUPID to believe so, considering how badly he screwed up with Vietnam.

Hey, JFK screwed up. LBJ certainly didn t make things better. But Nixon really screwed the pooch given that he had the lessons of 2 previous administrations to serve as a guide.

Oh here we go. SOP for liberals. “Yeah, our guy screwed up, but yours was way worse.” Besides, you’re wrong. As usual. Nixon didn’t take office until 1969 and had the last of the troops pulled out of Vietnam by 1971. The blood of 58,000 dead troops is on the hands of LBJ and JFK.

    OYE is exactly right.

That’s a shock. Two fucking morons thinking alike.

    Shocker.

  78. Quaker in a Basement says:

SOP for liberals. Yeah, our guy screwed up, but yours was way worse.

Did you write that with a straight face, Jay? How many times have we been treated to: “But what about Clinton?”

  79. Jadegold says:

Anybody notice how much more incoherent Caruso becomes as the sun starts going down?

  80. JK says:

    >>Since JK thinks JFK was the greatest President ever

Which ass did Jay pull that one out of?

I do not think JFK was the greatest President. That honor goes to Honest Abe. Or, perhaps FDR. I think JFK is in the top five.

Don’t put words in my mouth, Jay Caruso. You’re not qualified to do that, you never were, and you never will be.

    How’s Pavano these days?

Oh, how Jay hates the LOL’s. One trip to Caruso.Com and you’re in the land of Non-LOL…Jay is the Poet Laureate of the Blogoshere.

    JK

  81. Jadegold says:

Jay, I see you’re up for another history lesson.

WRT JFK and VN, JFK’s involvement with VN was pretty slim; at the time of JFK’s assassination, there were 16000 military advisors incountry. And it’s very apparent JFK didn’t seek to escalate the war–as we was actively engaged in seeking a diplomatic solution with the Soviets. We also now know–via old Soviet dispatches–that the Soviets were convinced JFK didn’t want to escalate “a second Korea.”

We also know JFK forbade his military advisors from participating in combat, though this directive was sometimes ignored.

  82. JK says:

Jay. I realize you were nothing but a gleam in your Daddy’s eye when JFK took office…..but it must bear repeating that the man did not get to serve a 2nd term, nor did he get a chance to influence the 1968 election.

Had he lived, who knows how things might have been different in Vietnam.
The difference, being that JFK had the requisite intelligence and military experience to be Commander in Chief.

Bush never did. Never Will. It’s not even cliche anymore. It might have been at one point, but the more we see of Bush, the more we realize that he’s always been in way over his head.

Your boy is the most incompetent President to ever hold the office of the Presidency. I don’t care that he wins elections. I don’t care if he’s a good politican. That has nothing to do with being an exectutive, and providing leadership through tough times, and making moral, ethical, difficult decisions.

He’s a failure, because he fails.

    JK

  83. Jay C says:

Anybody notice how much more incoherent Caruso becomes as the sun starts going down?

That’s rich Flanagan. Especially coming from somebody who’s never coherent.

WRT JFK and VN, JFK s involvement with VN was pretty slim; at the time of JFK s assassination, there were 16000 military advisors incountry.

    ROFLMAO!!!! LOL!!! LMFAO!!!

‘Advisors.’ Good grief. It was 16,000 TROOPS. They were training the ARVN and accompanying them on combat missions.

Don t put words in my mouth, Jay Caruso. You re not qualified to do that, you never were, and you never will be.

You’re right. I could never reach such low qualifications.

    How s Pavano these days?

Figures. His team wins the big one for the first time in almost 90 years, and he’s arrogant. Typical Red Sox fan. I’m sure your great-grandkids will enjoy the next Sox World Series victory.

  84. Jay C says:

It s good Caruso never calls anybody names, isn t it? Would make him a hypocrite or something

When did I say I never called anybody names, stupid?

  85. neoconsrloopy says:

    Here’s a pearl from caruso’s blog

She s as liberal as they come and is proud of it. But she s fair, always courteous and while she ll make her points strongly, she doesn t resort to calling those who disagree with her stupid or saying things like, I feel sorry for you because you re a conservative.

It’s good Caruso never calls anybody names, isn’t it? Would make him a hypocrite or something LOL LOL LOL LOL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

  86. Jadegold says:

Sadly, we catch Jay C. ignorant about both history and baseball.

Advisors. Good grief. It was 16,000 TROOPS. They were training the ARVN and accompanying them on combat missions.

As I noted earlier, the military advisors in VN during JFK’s tenure were expressly forbidden to participate in combat actions. And, as I noted, sometimes this prohibition was ignored.

Additionally, it should be noted Diem was absolutely opposed to US troop involvement, other than in advisory roles.

Still, there is a large difference between military advisors (who might accompany occassional combat missions) and the full-fledged combat commitment taken by the US later.

  87. JK says:

Everyone lay off Jay. I’ve always felt that underneath that tough, gritty exterior, lies a liberal waiting to bloom. Just a gut feeling.

Jay. It’s been, what…seven years? Time to show your true self. It’ll be OK. You’ve got friends who will support you here.

Didn’t this post start off about Michelle Malkin? Oh ya…well, here’s my take on her: She sucks. I’m not sure that she’s mentally stable. Those are the eyes of a psychopath.

    JK
