Right-wing Media Research Center continues the right-wing tradition of using dead people in order to score a political point or two.

Update: Loon David Horowitz adds to the parade of class:

    Nice that you spotlight MRC and say they’re representative of all conservatives while the “Vast” majority are respectful (Corner, Malkin, Insta, Drudge, CQ).

    Uh, Farris? That link leads to an anti-smoking site. Are you assuming they must be “left-wing” because they’re against smoking? Are you also assuming that advocating against tobacco use is somehow politically motivated?

    I don’t have a problem with someone scoring political points with a dead person. We do it all the time. I just have a problem with people who say stupid crap like “Peter Jennings did considerable damage to the cause of civilization and human deceny by his sympathy for Jew-hating terrorists and their supporters.” What the hell is he talking about? More importantly, why does anybody care what that Trotskyite prick David Horowitz has to say?

    What was that thing you wrote way back when, Oliver?

    If someone is a racist ass, that person is a racist ass. If you use the activity of one person to be a blanket condemnation of an entire race, you become the racist and no better than a Klan member.

    Perhaps that applies here in a different way. If you think one or two on the right have disrespected PJ in his death then apply any label you want to those individuals. But I think you know full well that the vast majority of the right have been exceedingly respectful with the passing of Jennings.

    Of course your employer wouldn’t say that, but they have a very specific agenda. Sometime you have to step out of the choir and go and see what the people are actually doing Oliver.

    You know, I’m not on the “condemn the right” movement because a couple of sadistic jerkwaters decided to show their true colors. I’d like to think that we all can keep a sense of perspective and avoid generalizations.

    Okay, my duty as Devil’s Advocate is done. I will say that after looking at Horowitz’s words, I have a great appreciation for some of the right-leaning posters on this site (some, not all).

    Wow, Farris, that was a hard hitting link illustrating Oliver’s hypocrisy… was that moveon.org you linked to? Oh wait, no, it was an anti-tobacco orginization. Well I guess that makes sense considering Mayor Bloomberg banned smoking in NYC clubs and bars. And hes a dyed in the wool Dem- oh hes a Republican isnt he? Man your point was begininng to make so much sense. And what political points were they trying to score? It seems to me they were illustrating the dangers of smoking, considering Jennings died of lung cancer and admitted smoking for 20 years. Those observations you made were about a sharp as a marble.
