I’m sorry to hear it. He seemed like a good one.

I pray for his family in this time of loss and transition.

It strikes me as amazing how Jennings, Brokaw, and Rather are now off the air within a year of each other. The stalwart threesome has now bowed out in some form or fashion, making way for the next generation. May we remember all their contributions and not repeat their mistakes in the future.

Seems like that whole generation is passing away. Jennings had real style and elegance. Tony Snow was on the Fox the other night. He is undergoing chemo and looks not so good also.

I have a close friend that has been undergoing chemo treatments for the past year and a half. During the actual treatments, its amazing how frail and dependent she is, yet when done with the treatments, her resolve and strength are amazing.

I hope Tony wins in his battle, and I hope Peter Jennings family are allowed to honor and diginify Peter’s death in the way they want to.

I didn’t know Tony Snow had cancer. That’s sad. I hope he beats it. I can still hear Peter Jennings’ voice in my head. It’s a calm, soothing voice that has walked us through some tough moments. RIP.

Upon hearing the news I went to LGF just to see what was going on on the other side.

Nice to see Oliver was right when he talked about those “people” (and I use the term loosely).

    Just an example:
“Jennings epitomized everything that was wrong with modern journalism. He profited from nepotism, cronyism, and the in-bred far left ideological makeup of Network News. His pathological hatred for America, not surprising given the monumental national chip on the shoulder so many Canadians carry, knew no bounds.

A high school flunkout who couldn’t apply himself to anything, wasn’t well-read or talented….but, oh, the suave, princely “elan.” Like most elites, he was insular and self-indulgent, and mostly just wanted to get laid and be famous.”

    Yeah, they’re not haters

I’m sorry: “pathological hatred”? How can anyone who supposedly has a pathological hatred for America choose to move to and work in America for the better part of half a century?

Yes, LGF is full of nutjobs.

I’ll always remember Jennings’ opener the day Mister Newt became Speaker – “The U.S. Hoos is in chaos!”
