Oliver, if Ann Coulter said to you, “Oliver, you’re a Redskins fan.”, you’d have to check with others to make sure she wasn’t lying.

Why is it that you suddenly believe her now?

  2. Oliver says:

A broken clock is right twice a day.

  3. ordinarygyrl says:

Ann Coulter is one of the scariest things in the world. She is affable, blond pretty, but spouts the most horrendous things. I almost hope that Roberts does get confirmed, even with his stated anti-choice stance.

  4. frameone says:

You don’t think Coulter would let the cat out of th bag that easily do you?

I take “We have the media now” to just mean “We have the media now — Fox News, talk radio, the blogs — to strong arm whoever we want onto the Supreme Court.”

This isn’t about reasonable and open debate for Ann. Obviously. It’s about nominating a whack job and strong arming him on to the court regardless of the damage it does to the country or the process in the long run.

  5. Joshua Gaines says:

Why is it that you suddenly believe her now?

A lawyer would describe it as a statement against interest; that is, Coulter has built at least part of her career on decrying the mainstream liberal media, why would she argue that it didn’t exist unless it were true?

  6. Well, golly… right-wingers in American can make things happen across “the pond” so why not here in the good ol’ US of A?

  7. Chris Woods says:

Ordinarygirl, I disagree with your comment that Ann Coulter is pretty. I’ll agree with you wholeheartedly that she is, in fact, quite scary though. I much prefer my Republican women to be like Ainsley Hayes: smart, sarcastic, and sexy.

     We have the media

Oliver documents the truest statement Ann Coulter has ever uttered.

Can you please tell us the next couple of sentences she said?

That way, we will have the context.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. James E. Powell says:

    ordinarygyrl,

Ann Coulter is neither affable nor pretty.

  11. Kryten42 says:

Nice one Oliver! I trulyy cannot stand that bitch!!

have to agree with James E. Powell! The only thing Coulter likes to screw is the USA! She has no heart and she doesn’t think!

I saw An interview a few Months ago by a Canadian where she was trying to suck up after saying something stupid about Canada (the USA’s BIGGEST* trading partner BTW, and a member of the Commonwealth) as usual. She saiid that “Canada were US allies in Vietnam and IndoChina”. As the Canadian interviewer (who would KNOW I think) said, No. And she didn’t believe him! LOL She lives in her own Bizzaro World and dreams of having BushMonkeys demon child! LOL

I could almost pity her, if she wasn’t so obviously demented! You can add Malkin to that also! :)

  12. nitpicker says:

My favorite part was actually when Bozell says the Republican party is “in shambles.” I know he’s only doing that to try to shame them into a get tough stance, but it still brightened up my day.

  13. Dugger says:

Insofar as the world of ideological female commentators is concerned, IMO pretty and witty fits. I think Frame is correct. She’s saying that we conservatives now have our own media organs: Fox etc.

  14. Hedley says:

Since, as ususal, we simply have a statement without its context, I could be wrong, but I would assume she did not mean “we control all the media.” Rather, “we have media outlets we didn’t have before (i.e., Bork)” and thus could withstand a fight on a nominee who, on his face, is more conservative than Roberts.

  15. Mike E says:

Repubs cannot help themselves. When everything is going their way, their unfettered greed takes over and they let slip little gems like this. It’s hard, hard work to keep up all the talking points, and sometimes a fact (like total media domination) will spurt out. Was she rubbing her hands together when she said this?

  16. Ann Coulter admits there is no liberal media

Oliver Willis has the goods, including the audio: Again putting the liberal media meme to death, right-wing loon Ann Coulter explains to fellow winger Brent Bozell on the 7/26 Sean Hannity Show that Bush should appoint a more extreme Judge…

    again, best troll site ever.

does anyone actually think that ann thinks?

  20. Publius says:

It’s not an accident, it’s a talking point. Bill O’Riley is saying it too.

    Via Publius Archive http://publiusarchive.blogspot.com/

    Bill O’Riley:
“One major casualty in the war on terror is the liberal press in the USA. Don’t believe the right-wing ideologues when they tell you the left still controls the media agenda. It does not any longer. It’s a fact.”

  21. Thanks for posting the audio. Little sound bites like that will always come in handy some day. -g

Dugger, thanks for pointing out what the rest of us have been saying for a long time. Faux News has always been in the hip pocket of the right wingers.

  23. cptkevin says:

As a Cornell graduate myself, I apologize to the rest of the world for sending this person upon you. As Keith Obermann (Another Cornell Graduate) said about the incident Ann Coulter had with the Canadian press where she realized she had no idea what she was saying, “What did she do at Cornell anyway? Even I went to classes!”

    Inside 9/11

Last Sunday and Monday, the National Geographic channel aired a special two part miniseries called Inside 9/11. While surfing around the net on Monday looking for a resource, I stumbled upon this post by Charles Johnson, the contemptible editor of…
