The Real Target?

Jeralyn takes a step back from a legal POV and wonders who, besides Rove, could be the target of the probe.

Dick Cheney’s name comes up in a place or two.

My idea is Tom Delay (fresh from being morally responsible for a courthouse shooting in Washington State) or Brit Hume (maybe he was bitter about being fired – don’t worry about things like time lines). Or maybe Rick Santorum.

Yes, it sure proves the whole “liberal media” nonsense is so much bunkum.

  3. Oliver says:

I never posted any such links. Conservative misinformation and punditry is rampant on CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, etc. Start here and work your way down.

If you’re referring to the link I posted, I don’t think it says that at all.

As to the “liberal media nonsense”, take a look at Media Matters: I’ve seen you trot out the CNN links that indicate that conservative opinions are occasionally (rarely?) expressed there.

But where the same sort of links for the Washington Post, The New York Times, The LA Times, Time and Newsweek?

How about ABC, CBS and NBC?

Any evidence that they’re not so biased, the office building leans to the left?

Rove would take an “Ollie North” fall for Cheney.

I heard the second White House official to commit treason was Ari Fleischer. I guess we’ll find out soon.

I dont think you have to be a Bush-hater to realize that this administration is coming apart at the seams. ONe problem could be that the administration is so focused on retaining the Republican majority that they are not paying attention to their job…running the country.

WHile they played word games to gain policy support for the MIddle East, they have let Latin America drift from the US sphere of influence. BOth China and India have secured long term contracts for oil and other resources from Brazil, Venezuela, CHile and others. Mexico is next.

Additionally, bullying SYria and NOrth Korea have achieved the opposite results…these two countries are now defiant no matter what we do. Miss RIce may be charming, but public statements by her are having the opposite effect in these two countries.

WHile there can be no doubt that President BUsh and MR. ROve are political geniuses, judging from the elections success, the American public is apparently no longer in love with these guys. No matter how much BS is fed to the public by CNN, FOX and ABC, the public is showing, in the polls at least, that they are dissatisfied with the job the president is doing in nearly every area.

Our economic competitors, like CHina, have used this confusion to grab up resource contracts in areas the US could formerly depend upon. The attempted purchase of SOCAL oil is not just a normal international business purchase, it is a shot over our bow to let us know we are losing our grip on the world economy.

It has taken the Karl ROve situation to wake the Media to do its job. In the long run, the media failure to question the administration over the last five years has led the BUsh people to believe everything they are doing is right. Unfortunately for the rest of us, they have been wrong most of the time.

    Oliver, I sit corrected…

Defiant? Syria has withdrawn its troops from Lebanon and claims to be interested in talking peace with Israel. North Korea has just stated that they will return to the bargaining table regarding their nuclear program. While your comments may be valid criticism, progress is being made with North Korea and Syria.

Frank, just think of it this way:

If you are so far to one side or the other of the political spectrum, soon it looks like everything opposes your view.

I used to believe all of the media was conservative, I had to take a step back and look at it. I found I was just ignoring the more central/liberal articles entirly and focusing my ire on those articles that angered me.

    Thats why I blog :)

I object to story emphasis (including headlines) and placement, and people brought on TV — especially the “big three” — to speak on subjects. That is where the liberal bias is most apparent.

As to your blog, it’s got a great banner…

Anyone who thinks the press is liberal is paranoid. You have been listening to too much Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. All they do is whine and cry 3 hours a day about the liberal press and talk about how stupid the democrats are. I wished they would just talk about all the good things the Republicans are doing. That would only take about 2 seconds.
