While Judith Miller is hanging out in jail, I wonder if she’ll ponder the reporting she did that helped usher us off to war?

    OTOH, I wonder if the courageous Ms. Miller is thinking about those on the left who supported a candidate who voted to start the war and then pledged to continue the war and how they can reconcile their critiicsm of her and the war with their own pious posturing.

Thats not he work of the pious? And as to the war, you demonstrate my point. you said “lie”. Thats very pious becasue it is ana ssumption of faith on your part against the Admin.     Those on ‘the left’ who voted to ‘start the war’ did so thinking they weren’t being lied to and fleeced with the BS provided by our current administration. I wouldn’t consider that to be pious–the right has a monopoly on that.

    Integrity is one thing – another is proctecting a criminal. While I am disappointed that it came to this – I don’t think that Cooper and Miller were obligated to protect their source once it became a criminal investigation.

    Are you able to think about this yourself, rather than directing me/someone to a highly partisan political site. You said “lie”, meaning you have knowledge of his intent. Mind reader are we? No lie, any time/any place, has been documented. Zero. Nada. While I understand the left sings this in chorus, the remainder of the world, that part whose life does not revolve daily around Bush-hate, has a tad higher intellectual standard.

    Was away for a day. You, of course, offer a very limited menu. And your question is loaded with unproven presumptions.

    I assume you are not a mind reader and we’ll eliminate “lying.”

    Ignorant? Maybe theres a little to this – but not much. No where, has anybody documented any “cooked” (meaning purposefully falsified) intelligence (be careful here, Perp Walk Wilson will leadeth astray) . All you have really got is that we did not find a cache of higher class WMDs in Iraq. It has not been proven that they were not there (or, to be fair, certainly, vice versa). And many varied and independent intelligence reports as well as intelligent observers from both sides of the political spectrum said they were. Many options here. Most likely is that the Admin was wrong in suggesting we would find actual WMDs. That could be because they were moved, hidden or destroyed. Or maybe Bush, Kerry, Clinton, CIA, foreign intell services, etc., were all wrong and they were NEVER there. Common snese tells me too many on the one side for there to not have been some “fire” behind the WMD smoke at some point.
