Vincent, 8 since June 14th. It’s a bit ridiculous to assume that’s the limit of Oliver’s discussion of polls. Perhaps your own opinion about protesting too much should be internalized.

Vincent, I just scanned Instapundit’s main page and only found two references to polls, both positive for Bush. I can’t find a search feature, either because Im blind or he doesnt offer one, so I didnt bother combing his archives- but bringing up 2 positive polls at a point where Bush’s approval numbers are at all time lows doesnt lend much to your statement of him giving more space to polls he disagrees with than OW does. Id say theyre roughly the same. Besides, dont forget his archives are limited to about 3 weeks ago when his whole site went BOOM and was redone.

And if your interested in my take on the poll, I would say given the speech’s poor viewership numbers, and partisan audience (about as many Repubs watched as Dems and Independants combined) that its hard to believe such a dramatic jump took place. I say lets look at his overall numbers in a week or 2 for a true assessment.

By plugging in the word “poll” into the search box, I’m presented with a list of eight posts. Hardly comprehensive, I’m guessing, but useful nonetheless. Nearly half of those posts are about Glenn Reynolds. Two are about Bush. One is about GOP politicization of 9/11 with another thrown in about war support. The final one is about Santorum and I guess you could say it kind of talks about the Democrats, sort of. So we’ll be charitable and count it among your “numerous” posts about “how the left can get opinon on your side.”

So, among your recent posting on polls, at least, only one is really about “the left,” and that’s if we’re charitable. Almost half were whining about Instapundit, and the rest were a smattering of anti-Republican stuff.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.

I’ve written about polls I disagree with numerous times and talk about how I think the left can get opinion on our side. Reynolds only writes about them when they fit his POV, or links to someone on the right discrediting them.

Data is interesting…you can look at data and make it stand up and bark. How that data is collected is extremely important for credibility. There are pro pollsters that will get the data to say what you want for a price. We should be careful about that data set.

Numbers never lie – people lie with numbers…

What do you think about the polls? It’s becoming pretty clear that whenever a poll you don’t like comes out, instead of talking about it the way you talk about polls that support your positions, you just throw out the Glenn Reynolds red herring to avoid having to discuss it.

I mean, you spend all this time barking about Glenn Reynolds’ supposed hypocrisy vis-a-vis polls he doesn’t like… but he’s giving polls he disagrees with more space on his front page than you give to poll numbers you don’t like or that disagree with the line you’re pushing.

Just sayin’.
