    Well if you define victory as “creating the greatest terrorist breeding ground since Afghanistan in the 80’s (you know, the same one in which we trained and funded Osama bin Laden and his ilk)” then we certainly have won.

    Not sure whether you got my email, but I wanted to point out some pictures that a U.S. citizen in Iraq passed on to me that they got from soldiers. They show U.S. soldiers planting weapons in front of Iraqi teens.

    Yep… we’re winning the War on Terror, one unlucky civilian terrorist at a time.

    Actually it is an article speculating that we have now won the military war but also says things like:

    “The terrorist struggle has hardly ended. Even a very small number of vicious men operating in secret will find opportunities to blow up outdoor markets and public buildings, assassinate prominent political figures, and knock down office towers. But public opinion is not on the insurgents side, and the battle of Iraq is no longer one of war fighting but of policing and politics.”

    As always, more complex than the sneering would lead one to believe.
