Too bad I live in Indiana. All I can do is vote against Lugar in 2006. Although, whoever faces him will likely lose. If he retires, Democrats have a chance if they nominate someone Hoosiers have shown support for in the past. He was quite popular, but the stains of the administration of the late Frank O'Bannon hung to him, though he was making changes. Another one would be Vi Simpson, state Senator from the Bloomington area. She was quite popular and probably would've won the Dem primary for Gov. in 2004.
