America’s First Zulu Warrior President

6:06 pm EST June 16th, 2005 | Politics | 7 Comments

I’ve previously mused about an Oprah Winfrey candidacy (trust me, I have no doubt she leans to the left), now throw in this stuff about her being a Zulu descendant and the most powerful person in entertainment.

I can’t think of a demographic beyond the so-called angry white male dittohead contingent that wouldn’t overwhelmingly tip to Ms. Winfrey.

If Ahnuld can be governor, Oprah can be president.

The only Zulu Warrior candidate for ( Zulu or Not ) President right now is John Conyers….not Oprah…not Barack…Barack needs to drop the smile and grab the shovel and get back to work doing the people’s business. He can start by not hanging around with ‘Smilin’ Joe Biden. We don’t need the Biden taint rubbin off on a potentially great Dem leader. I don’t know one thing about Conyers other than he is moving media mountains by sheer force of will …and it makes me happy.

Condi could, Oprah could, Frank_D could (he has stated that he is old enough…) – Oprah vs. Condi…Oprah would most assuredly come out on top. My only problem with OW (I think Oliver s fascination with Oprah is that they share the same initials) is she unleashed Dr. Phil on the world…:)

Every fad psychoanalytical methodist with a popular message will be paraded to the public. Dr. Phil is just another in a long line of them.

So far Oprah has increased national booksales on a wide range of books, she’s encouraged people to live healthier and she doesn’t have the image problem that Martha has/had. Its just that she’s too good for politics, there’s no money in it for her, she’d have to sell out everything she’s stood for and make a 180 in order to be “successful”. I put successful in quotes because the general American ideal of successful, when broken down, usually doesn’t seem successful at all, its more a sychophantic/self-destructive sort of success.

  7. Oprah Winfrey for President?

Oliver Willis has been touting Oprah Winfrey as the Democrats smart candidate for president. It s hard to deny that she s smart, widely admired, and good on television.

Alex Knapp, though, offers a retort:
