Virginia Moves Towards The Center

So this is an interesting development. The primary election in Virginia has decidedly not gone the way Republican partisans like Patrick Ruffini wanted them to. Rather than vote for knee-jerk anti-tax flat earthers, the people voted for essentially centrists in the state house in order to the do the hard work of governance, rather than fancy speeches that get you love from the Grover Norquists of the world.
No, Virginia has not become Berkley East — but it isn’t Kansas either. Tim Kaine now officially has the nod, as well as a running mate for Lt. Governor (who happens to be a woman). So perhaps he can ride this outbreak of common sense in Virginia to the governor’s mansion.
